WHERE HAS TRIBALISM TAKEN PLATEAU TO?

The progress and  development of Plateau State cannot be tied down by those who have  allowed themselves to be willing tools to this evil called TRIBALISM, whether in or outside Plateau State,men of good conscience must continue to speak till things come into shape.

Indeed,in the annals of the history of the development of Plateau State one cannot talk about Plateau State without mentioning the former Commissioner of Police Joseph Dechi Gomwalk,the first Military Governor of Benue-Plateau popularly known as J.D Gomwalk who paved the way and showed us on the Plateau that when you work hard and bring development to the people the impact and the benefits of good governance can best just  be imagine,it goes down memory lane for  many generations to come.

I for one was not born then but i grew up to touch and see the various projects and good policies that our hero J.D Gomwalk has done,and i have seen the passion in which a lot of our elders talk about the foresight of this great leader,that is to tell us that whatever one does while in office whether good or bad stays with him as a reminder and history will either be kind or treat you as you deserve,note that the court of public opinion is with the people where the people are the judge.

THE WAY FORWARD:

Just as J.D Gomwalk,the good news is that God is preparing another detribalized person who will take all Plateau people as his own,a leader that will bring rapid development because he knows and understands what good name does and what touching the lives of people directly means,he has shown real commitment and love for the development of Plateau State.

Let me go further to say that,today tribalism has been the meal ticket in which many are using on the Plateau to enrich themselves and directly hindering others who are not their own for no fault of theirs but where born into families of certain tribes or ethnic groups and the question that keeps coming up is "who did this to us" on the Plateau?

Infact,It has become like a sin to come from certain ethnic group or religion on the Plateau today,to the extend that those who are open minded who want to bring development and are open minded are been called " a Betrayal" a name that a Plateau person hates to be called.

No wonder some Plateau people use the word "a Betrayal" interchangeably depending on the situation in other to manipulate people to their advantage.

In 2023 i will continue to advocate for a person who takes all Plateau people as his own,a person who understand the simple concept, that all others states of the federation are in need of socio-economic development and Plateau State cannot be left behind.

I must conclude by saying shame to those who have been using ethnicity particular to hinder the development of Plateau State in what ever capacity for self enrichment.

In conclusion let us continue to think Plateau and Act Plateau,then Plateau will be the envy of all in Nigeria.
